How to Get Free Social Media Training Directly from Twitter, Instagram and More

Here’s a little-known fact: All the social media channels you use for business give you free training on how to use their platforms.

That’s right. Instead of stumbling around in the dark trying to figure out what to post, how to grow your account and what features are available to you – you could just do a short course that comes directly from the people who made the channel you’re trying to master.

The best part? They are all available online and accessible whenever you want!

Unfortunately, these companies don’t spread the word much about these brilliant tools (why the hell not?!), so only social media professionals tend to know they exist.

Well, the cat’s out the bag, ya’ll! Today, I’m sharing access to all the official social media training I’ve found that will help you master the channels you use for your biz. Let’s dig in!

Facebook Blueprint – Facebook & Instagram

Since Facebook owns Instagram, and the two platforms are integrated in several ways when it comes to business, they’ve chosen to put all their training material under one banner.

On Facebook Blueprint, you’ll get the full details to Pages, Advertising, Insights and more. Doing all the courses provided here will definitely boost your knowledge on the inner workings of Facebook’s empire, but if you wanna skip all that and dive straight into Instagram, you can do these courses first and check out the Instagram Business website for more information and inspiration.

Twitter Flight School

Twitter has one of the most comprehensive training school sites available. It has various courses and tracks depending on how you use Twitter, and each lesson is only a few minutes long, so you can do bite-sized chunks over time. Twitter has made lots of changes over the past few years – like doubling the character limit and adding GIFs – so using these will go a long way in ensuring you know all the features available and how to use them effectively to grow your audience and your business.

Important Note: Because of all those changes I mentioned, Twitter is currently upgrading Flight School. If you’re reading this at the time of publishing, the courses may not yet be available. However, bookmark the link and return, because I promise you will not be disappointed.

YouTube Creators Academy

Thinking of starting a YouTube channel for your business but have no clue how to get it done? That’s where the Creators Academy comes in. YouTube walks you through the entire process of building your business channel, creating and uploading content and advertising.

Of course, if you want to take YouTube even more seriously and make money from it, you should check out the other courses they have available too.

Pinterest Business

While Pinterest doesn’t have an established training course, they do have a helpful website dedicated to giving businesses useful information on how to maximize their use of the platform.

On this site you will find helpful tips on getting started with Pinterest, learning how to use tools such as Rich Pins and Shop the Look to drive sales, Insights into current trends, and even some Success Stories for inspiration.

LinkedIn Marketing Solutions

Like Pinterest, LinkedIn has a site dedicated to showcasing best practices for LinkedIn Pages and some great tips on advertising. While this might be helpful for larger businesses or those that target other businesses, I don’t recommend LinkedIn Pages for regular small businesses. It’s much more effective to grow an authentic, engaging audience using your personal profile and the tools that come with it. (More on that in another post.)

That said, if you’re considering diving into LinkedIn Ads and Pages, this is the best place to do it.

Even if you have been using these platforms for years, it’s hard to learn all the features and benefits just by relying on your own knowledge. I highly recommend taking the time to go through these courses so you can build a solid foundation to help you market your business online more effectively.
