Poetic Justice: Unconventional Non-Conformist Me

Unconventional
Non-conformist
‘Do as I please’
Me
I break the mold
Why do what I’m told
When you’re the one who tells
My inner voice knells
You are not the boss of me
Agreed?
So why should I follow
And not lead

I swear a solemn creed
To never bleed
At the hand of one that commands
Because I am me
I’m what I see
When I awake at morn
If I can’t look at her
I will never
Be able to face the world

I live
I breathe
For me
Not we
So if that means
I have to be
Unconventional
Non-conformist
‘Do as I please’
Me
Then I will be
Because I am the boss of me
Agreed?
